Interesting People — Harry Stack Sullivan
Dec 23, 2021
"Personality can never be isolated from the complex interpersonal relationships in which [a] person lives."
Harry Stack Sullivan is a lesser known but hugely influential psychoanalyst (born 1892) who contributed a lot to the understanding of being in relationship, interpersonal theories of a self, and to current developmental “stage” theories. He applied it all to working with schizophrenics, with impressive results.
Here’s a PDF Overview of Developmental Theory by Jonathan Reams that reminded me of Sullivan. (It's very Integral-nerdy).
