Including Politics In Relatefulness 🗽

We can learn to include things like political ideas into our Circles. It can be tricky. We're tempted to downplay non-rational forms of knowing. We're tempted to stay attached to our beliefs and dehumanize those who think differently. Really loving another perspective will change us. Fortunately understanding doesn't equal agreeing, and not all views are equal.

Some best practices: Remember your gut. Avoid self-righteousness—no one's smart enough to be 100% right. Don't force something that isn’t alive. Be willing for 'the topic' to evolve into something way different from what you started with—eg: You start with 'cancel culture' and end up feeling your own sense of rejecting love. Be willing to bring attention back to it if it's still alive in you, and claim what's generating your desire. And finally, invite others into your present moment experience of the thing. In other words, invite them into the wetness of the wave.
