Thank you to everyone for making Relateful Camp 2024 a huge success!
I am still deeply feeling the impact of Relateful Camp. The experience does not seem to fit within the confines of any human language. Every word that comes to mind seems to become thin and fragile in the shadow of the actual experience. I can only name a few events in my life that seemed to alter my gravity, the rotation of my world on its own axis. Relateful Camp, in this moment, feels like one of those events.
The activities really helped put not so much focus on ‘we have to do transformative deep learning’, but also ‘we can have FUN!'
It was so refreshing to be able to go for a swim a couple of times during the camp - to give my body a chance to move and integrate all that was happening in the sessions. And the water slide was really fun!
I flew in from Canada down to Texas with a mission: I was going to ride horses and shoot guns. And Texas did not disappoint. I think some other stuff happened at camp too…? But that shooting target is still on my fridge.
The thing that calmed my nervous system most was sitting with the horses and listening to them breathe.
