Justin Bieber: Literal Oneness in Music & Dance 👨🎤

By a stroke of good fortune my wife and I ended up at a Justin Bieber concert last night. With the same beat inside the bodies of thousands of people, I feel our literal oneness. Here we are singing together in one voice, uniquely individual and totally connected. We know it. We feel it. This is the lived sensation of autonomy and communion interpenetrating; this is worship (of the divine, not of Bieber). This is relatefulness.
Of course it has nothing to do with Bieber. I see Ecstatic Dancers, nightclubbers, and festival-goers as mystics drawn to transcendence. Seeing this way, Coachella is a mega church. I feel ecstatic and grateful. And now I see this unified uniqueness in all the nows. The radio, even the sound of traffic, reverberates in all it touches, uniting us from the inside out.
